‘St Louis’ is a residential development in Sea Point that consists of three upmarket apartments with beautiful ocean views.
QDP was part of the design team as electrical and electronics consultants.
Just as with all new buildings, the design had to consider the relevant emergency and security systems. While the individual owners will add their own touch to each unit, the overall security and safety of the building are part of the base build under QDP’s scope.
The lighting was designed to be more welcoming and comforting in the apartment. Whereas common and external areas needed to allow for safety as well as comfort. Sufficient lighting for CCTV and security, but still adds to the overall ambiance of the building at night.
Thanks to Eskom, the MOST important item of all for high-cost living these days is reliable backup power. Inverters with battery backup were installed in each apartment and common area, with the possibility of the owners adding solar once they moved in.
